Welcome to the12 books club
(so many books in dis club)
The idea of my book & writing club:
I’ll choose a book for everyone to read. You can get the book from your local bookstore, library, or even borrow it from a friend — whatever works best for you.
Alongside the book, you’ll receive two prompts written specifically for that title, as well as a core questionnaire that will remain the same each month — our small recurring ritual.
You can find this information here. The questionnaire is there to notice not just what we read, but how we read. It should not feel like too much — answer briefly or deeply, skip what doesn’t resonate, make it yours.
After (or even during) reading, you’ll respond to the two prompts by handwriting your thoughts (on paper no bigger than A6, one piece of paper per prompt). Do not add your name — let’s keep it anonymous. Your handwriting will eventually speak for itself.
As mentioned above, you’re invited to fill out the questionnaire as well — print it, write it, use it as a tool. You can share it with me/us or keep it to yourself. Whatever feels good.
If you choose to share, take a photo or scan your responses and send them to me (busywritinglists@gmail.com).
I’ll compile what’s shared into a quiet digital archive, allowing us to explore different perspectives and reflections without the pressure of live discussion.
Next month, here we go again.
This is just to encourage you to read, write, and think for yourself — grab a fun notebook, enjoy the process, and know it’s not for anyone else to judge or perform for.
You can join whenever you like, ssshhhhhhh quietly. As mentioned, this club exists simply to encourage reading and writing — nothing more, nothing less. Oh, and every month I’ll send 1–2 emails with the questionnaire and prompts, but if you ever can’t find or don’t receive an email, the information is always available on my website.
